Let The Music Play Games
The synergy between music and video games represents a significant opportunity for global promotion and audience engagement. However, there is a lack of mutual understanding and communication, especially regarding legal aspects of collaboration, that limits the development of solid and sustainable professional relationships between these sectors, resulting in lost opportunities.
Let the Music Play Games was created to bridge this gap, fostering dialogue and promoting greater awareness between the music industry and independent video game production houses to establish fair and lasting collaborations. To achieve this, the 36-month project includes the development of Guidelines to facilitate these synergies.
Additionally, LMPG offers a capacity building program to strengthen professional skills and improve access to related creative industries. Finally, through a matchmaking program, the project explores concrete solutions and new business opportunities.
The initiative adopts a mutually beneficial approach, aligned with the interests of both sectors and professionals in the music and gaming industries.
LMPG’s primary activities are designed to facilitate such collaboration, innovation, and fair practices across the European music and video game sectors. These include:
LMPG works to develop a comprehensive understanding of the value chains and practices in both the music and video game industries. Through sector-specific research, expert contributions, and legal guidance, it aims to establish fair and sustainable business relations. A key outcome of this work is raising awareness and bridging knowledge gaps between professionals in both fields.
To foster communication and connection between the music and video game sectors, LMPG creates spaces for dialogue through webinars, networking events, and industry meetups. By facilitating these interactions, we help professionals share insights, discuss challenges, and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
LMPG is committed to identifying fair and practical ways for European video game studios to integrate music into their games. Through collaborative research, matchmaking sessions, and business model analysis, the project aims to develop strategies that align with artists’ interests while supporting innovation in game development, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships.
